Hell-o To Everyone,

This is to update you on some events that are happening at the Youth Center.

This Saturday, March 30, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. we are having a bake food sale at the Center.  Proceeds will go to the center's operating fund.  I am fixing cinnamon rolls and Alice said she would do pecan pies and a chocolate cake.  I'm not sure about others.  I am hoping that people will come and buy for their Easter Morning breakfast and Easter desserts.

April 1. APRIL FOOL'S DAY, we will be opening the doors.  Please let me know what day you want to help out and get it on the calendar at the center.

April 6, (Saturday) will be the Red Cross Blood Drive, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.  They will take care of everything.  We just need to get the word out.  If we have any cookies left from the bake food sale we could save them for that.  Teens have to be 17 to give.   Everyone will get a T-shirt that gives.

To update you on the meeting for those of you that were not there.  I realize that some of you were not contacted about the last meeting.  We were meeting on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.   We have selected a group to work on a grant committee.  We will meet again on April 2.  If any of you have any experience we could use your help.  This big grant for OJJDP, Office of Juvenile Justice Department Program, is the baby we are doing now.  It is a hard one, but the possible money is great.  It was decided to try and do this ourselves, because we can't afford to hire anyone to do it, plus who else knows the most about what we are doing and want to do besides ourselves.  Several other grants are being looked at also.

The first teen dance Saturday night had a good group of kids at it.  We had around 70 teens.  They were from everywhere.  Wayland, Hannibal, Canton, Quincy, Lewistown, like I said from everywhere.  At 10:30, the end of the dance, I opened the rest of the center up for them to see.  The excitement was great.

See you on Saturday.   Please help to pass the word about the bake food sale and blood drive.

Thank-you
